Who We Are
We founded Rent Wedding Chairs after realizing how hard it is to find chiavari chairs that are 1) affordable, 2) well maintained, 3) and from a company that can accommodate our specific needs. You might get one of these things, sometimes two, but never all three.
When we began planning for our wedding we knew two things: we would choose a DIY venue for our wedding reception, and we had a firm budget that we needed to stick to.
David’s sister and brother-in-law got married the summer before us. They went semi-DIY, which meant finding an event company that would let them rent just chiavari chairs, since their venue only had old conference room style chairs (not very pretty).
They did their homework, shopped around, called multiple party rental companies in Ohio, even attended a bridal show at a convention center where they were offered special prices if they booked that day.
Everywhere they turned they encountered the same issues – either sky high prices, nickel-and-dime companies that charge for EVERYTHING, or cheap companies that had a reputation for bad upkeep of their chairs and cushions. They went with the best option they found, and even then the company came back with an additional $400 charge for taking the chairs up an elevator at the venue. It was outrageous!
When we began planning for our wedding, we didn’t want to deal with any of the chair rental companies in Columbus– so we decided to start our own!

Since founding Rent Wedding Chairs in 2017, we’ve worked with countless couples, event planners, and venues, many of which exclusively refer their clients to us (thanks guys! :). They appreciate how easy it is to work with us and can see the care we put into maintaining our chairs and cushions – you’d be shocked at how poorly some of the largest rental companies in Columbus (can’t say names) maintain their inventory.
When you email or call, you will be communicating directly with David or Laura. We’ll be with you from your initial inquiry to the final details of your seating chart. Our aim is to take the stress and frustration out of planning a day that should be a joyful celebration.
